Alderac Entertainment announced the card game Sail to India for its "Big in Japan" imprint, to release in 2014.
Designed by Hisashi Hayashi (Trains, String Railway), this game is set in the Age of Discovery, when the Portuguese were looking for alternative trade routes to the East Indies, hoping to avoid the Osman Turkish controlled-Mediterranean waters. Players take the roles of explorers in search of new lucrative trade routes. Victory points are earned by discovering new coastal towns, selling trade goods and constructing buildings. Technological advances can be acquired, granting the discoverer powerful abilities.
The game is for 3 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 60 minutes. The box contains 4 Historian cards, 4 Domain cards, 3 Technology cards, 1 Lisboa card, 12 Coastal town cards, 4 Reference cards, 52 markers and a rulebook. MSRP is set at $19.95.
Alderac announced another title from its “Big in Japan” imprint last week for Fall release (see "'Mai-Star' Card Game").
