A four-hour Farscape mini-series, Farscape: Peacekeeper War will air on the Sci-Fi Channel late this year.  The mini-series, which allows the Farscape creators to wrap up storylines left open when the series was abruptly cancelled after its fourth season (see 'Farscape Cancelled'), has already started production in Australia (see 'Farscape Mini-Series Set for Production'), but until yesterday's announcement by the Sci-Fi Channel no one was sure when or where the mini-series would be broadcast.

Other notable projects announced by the Sci-Fi Channel, which is trying hard to attract younger viewers, include a live action Witch Hunter Robin series based on the popular anime (see 'Live Action Witch Hunter Robin'), a four-hour mini-series based on Larry Niven's classic Ringworld series of science fiction novels, and Kyra, a spinoff from the Universal science fiction films Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick, starring Vin Diesel and written and directed by David Twohy.
