ADV Films is planning a two-stage rollout for its introduction of the Japanese live action cultural phenomenon, The Fuccons (known as Oh Mikey! in Japan, see 'ADV Announces Acquisitions').  This series of short films about an American family (made up of 1950s-style mannequins) transplanted to Japan has been a huge hit in Japan, where the three-minute films run as interstitials between primetime programs.

The first part of ADV's introduction of The Fuccons is a special low-priced (SRP $5.98) preview disk, Meet the Fuccons, an 8-episode compendium of some of the weirdest, wackiest highlights from the series, which is due out on December 20th.  The budget introductory disk also includes a number of computer-oriented extras -- screensavers, clip art, sound files and other goodies all designed to appeal to the property's target audience, the hip, young computer-savvy Adult Swim demographic.

The second stage of The Fuccons rollout will take place in February at the New York Comic-Con at the Javits Center in Manhattan, where fans will be able to meet Mikey, the Fuccons #1 son, 'live' and in person.  The first full DVD of The Fuccons will be released right after the New York ComicCon on Februray 22nd, and will feature a full hour of episodes and special features plus the original Japanese version with English subtitles.  ADV will release two additional volumes in the series at eight-week intervals.  The regular Fuccons DVDs will have an SRP of $19.98.
