Dabel Brothers Productions is planning extensive promotions and publicity to bring new readers familiar with the licensed properties on which their books will be based to comic stores.

Two major opportunities to attract female readers are coming up with the release of Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake (see 'Anita Blake:  Vampire Hunter') and Kinley MacGregor's Lords of Avalon (launching this fall).  Both authors have large and devoted fan bases for their fiction work, and the publishers of both have agreed to include ads in the back of their novels for the comics.

Berkley will advertise the Anita Blake comics, and Avon will advertise the Lords of Avalon comics.  Other marketing for the novels will also include mentions of the comics.  And Comic Shop Locator Service info will be provided in the book publisher marketing, so fans can find a retailer that carries the comics.

In exchange, the Dabel Brothers comics will include promotion for the novels from which they're adapted.

Two online venues widely read by the fans of these authors will also include coverage of the comic adaptations:  Romantic Times, and WNBC (which has over 20 million unique visitors per month).
