A second series of action figures based on Square Enix's popular Kingdom Hearts video game will be available in the U.S. in December exclusively through Diamond Comic Distributors.  The three new action figures, which retail for $14.99 each, come packaged on collectible blister cards. 

The characters included in the second Kingdom Hearts series are a 5.5-inch action figure of the heroine Kairi, a 7-inch tall head of the Disney Castle Royal Guard, Goofy, and a 6-inch figure of Cloud Strife (complete with his trademark Buster Sword).  Cloud Strife is one of Square Enix's most popular creations -- the lead character in Final Fantasy VII and the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children feature (the most popular anime DVD release of 2006 so far, see '1.4 Million Advent Children DVDs').

In addition to the popular Kingdom Hearts video games Tokyopop's Kingdom Hearts manga series has been a huge hit.  ICv2 ranked the series at #3 in the 'Top 50 Manga Properties' in the new ICv2 Retailers Guide to Anime/Manga #15, an amazing performance for a series that so far includes just three releases.  A fourth Kingdom Hearts manga volume is due out in July and a new series begins in October.
